These Terms govern your use of Heurister, an educational platform that provides decision-training missions for children aged 10 to 18. Please read these Terms carefully before creating an account or subscribing. By using Heurister, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Heurister (the "Service"), you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and that you are a parent or legal guardian with the authority to create accounts for one or more children aged 10 to 18 (each, a "Child Profile"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
These Terms form a binding agreement between you ("you" or "the Parent") and Heurister (the "Operator"). They apply to all Parents, Child Profiles created under a Parent account, and visitors to the Service.
2. Description of Service and Early Access
Heurister provides interactive, story-based decision-training missions designed to help children practice judgment under uncertainty. The Service includes a parent dashboard, child mission gameplay, post-mission insights generated with the assistance of AI inference partners, and optional paid subscription tiers.
Heurister is currently in Early Access. The mission library is expanding and features may evolve. We will provide subscribers with at least thirty (30) days advance notice via email of any material changes to the Service that may affect your use of paid features.
3. Eligibility and Account Holder Self-Certification
To use Heurister you must be at least 18 years of age and have parental or guardian authority over each Child Profile you create. By signing up, you self-certify that you meet these conditions.
We do not perform independent age verification at the time of account creation. Google authentication confirms that you control a valid Google account; it does not verify your age. The legal responsibility for accurate self-certification rests with you.
- You provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
- You maintain the security of your account credentials and accept responsibility for all activity under your account.
- You confirm each Child Profile is between 10 and 18 years of age.
- You agree to update us promptly if any information you have provided becomes inaccurate.
4. Parental Consent and Child Safety
Heurister is a service designed for use by children aged 10 to 18 under parental supervision. Indonesian Personal Data Protection Law (Undang-Undang Nomor 27 Tahun 2022 tentang Pelindungan Data Pribadi, hereafter "UU PDP") requires verifiable parental consent for processing of minors’ personal data. By creating a Child Profile, you provide that consent and confirm you have authority to do so.
- You, the Parent, control all account and Child Profile settings, including data access and deletion.
- You may review, modify, or delete your child’s data at any time.
- All Service content is age-appropriate and free of advertising directed at children.
- There are no chat, social, or direct-communication features between children, or between children and other users.
- You may terminate the account or any Child Profile at any time.
5. Subscription, Payment, and Renewal
Heurister offers a free tier with limited mission access and one or more paid subscription tiers that unlock the full mission library. Subscription pricing and tier details are described on our pricing page.
Payment is processed by PT Midtrans Payments Indonesia ("Midtrans"). When you subscribe, you authorize Midtrans to process the payment using the payment method you select. We receive notification of payment outcome; we do not store your payment-instrument details.
Renewal model (current):
- Subscriptions are billed monthly and renew manually. Your subscription will lapse at the end of each billing period unless you actively re-subscribe.
- We do not charge your payment instrument without an explicit, affirmative action by you at the time of each renewal.
- You retain access to paid features through the end of your current billing period.
If we change to an automatic-renewal model in the future, the change will be treated as a material change to these Terms. We will obtain your renewed consent before charging your payment instrument on a recurring basis, and you will receive advance notice as described in Section 14.
6. Heurister Satisfaction Guarantee
Heurister offers a voluntary satisfaction guarantee for first-time subscribers, in addition to any rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law.
Satisfaction Guarantee terms:
- Eligibility: first-time subscribers within seven (7) days of the initial subscription date.
- Condition: the Child Profile linked to the subscription has not played any paid mission during the eligibility window. Free missions do not count against eligibility.
- Process: send a written refund request with relevant details (account email, subscription date, reason) to finance@heurister.com.
- Processing time: we will review and process the refund within seven (7) days of receiving the request.
This Satisfaction Guarantee is a voluntary additional protection. It does not waive or replace any rights you may have under Indonesian consumer-protection law (Undang-Undang Nomor 8 Tahun 1999 tentang Perlindungan Konsumen, hereafter "UU Perlindungan Konsumen") or e-commerce regulation (Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 80 Tahun 2019 tentang Perdagangan Melalui Sistem Elektronik, hereafter "PP 80/2019"), including but not limited to refund rights for duplicate billing, fraudulent charges, or material service degradation.
7. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to:
- Share account credentials with unauthorized users, or permit any person other than yourself or a Child Profile under your authority to use the account.
- Attempt to access another user’s account, Child Profile, or data.
- Use the Service for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, its servers, or its infrastructure.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of any part of the Service.
- Scrape, mass-download, or use automated means to access the Service except as expressly authorized.
- Use the Service in a manner that could damage, disable, or impair the experience of other users.
8. Intellectual Property Rights
All content, features, missions, scenarios, characters, graphics, logos, trademarks, source code, and other material that form part of the Service ("Heurister Content") are owned by Heurister or its licensors and are protected by Indonesian and international intellectual-property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, publicly perform, or create derivative works of Heurister Content without our prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use of the Service as intended.
9. User-Generated Content
Your child’s mission choices, written commitments, slider positions, and other inputs ("User Content") are submitted to the Service to enable gameplay, scoring, and post-mission insights. By submitting User Content, you grant Heurister a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and analyze User Content solely for the purpose of operating the Service, generating insights for you and your child, and improving the Service in aggregate, non-identifying form.
We do not sell or share User Content with advertisers or third-party marketers. See our Privacy Policy for details on how User Content is processed by AI inference partners.
10. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy and your child’s privacy are important to us. Our practices regarding the collection, use, processing, and disclosure of personal data, including children’s data, are described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms.

- For data subject requests (access, correction, deletion, portability), see Privacy Policy Section 10. We respond within thirty (30) days.
11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
- Any specific educational outcome, cognitive improvement, or behavioral change will result from use of the Service.
- The Service will be compatible with every device, browser, or operating system.
- Any AI-generated insight or recommendation will be accurate, complete, or appropriate for every individual child.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid to us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Force Majeure
Heurister will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control ("Force Majeure Events"), including without limitation:
- War, armed conflict, civil unrest, terrorism, or government action;
- Natural disasters including earthquake, flood, fire, tsunami, volcanic eruption, or extreme weather;
- Pandemics, epidemics, or public-health emergencies declared by competent authorities;
- Cybersecurity incidents including distributed denial-of-service attacks, ransomware, or other malicious attacks on our systems or systems we depend on;
- Outages or material degradation of payment-processing infrastructure including Midtrans or Bank Indonesia clearing systems;
- Outages or material degradation of cloud-infrastructure providers we depend on (including Amazon Web Services Singapore region and Vercel);
- Outages or material degradation of internet backbone connectivity affecting Indonesia.
Indonesian Civil Code Articles 1244 and 1245 (keadaan memaksa) apply as the baseline framework and are supplemented, not replaced, by the events listed above.
13. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by following the account-deletion process inside the Service or by writing to contact@heurister.com.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you materially breach these Terms, if your account presents a security or safety risk, or if continued provision of the Service becomes unlawful. Where reasonable, we will provide advance notice.
On termination by either party, your right to access the Service ends. We will delete your personal data and your child’s personal data within thirty (30) days of account deletion, except for information we are required to retain under applicable law or for legitimate business purposes (for example, tax and accounting records).
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For any material change, including changes to the subscription, refund, renewal, or privacy practices, we will provide at least thirty (30) days advance notice by email to the address on file and by posting a notice in the Service.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the updates. If you do not accept an update, you may terminate your account before the effective date as described in Section 13.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Indonesia.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Pengadilan Negeri Tangerang. For consumer disputes within the threshold of Indonesia’s simplified small-claims procedure (Gugatan Sederhana, currently up to IDR 500,000,000), that simplified procedure applies.
Before initiating formal proceedings, the parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution through direct correspondence for a period of at least thirty (30) days from the first written notice of the dispute.

17. Language and Authoritative Version
These Terms are published in English and in Bahasa Indonesia. In the event of any inconsistency or conflict between the two versions, the Bahasa Indonesia version shall prevail for all purposes of interpretation and enforcement under Indonesian law, in accordance with Article 31 of Undang-Undang Nomor 24 Tahun 2009 on Flag, Language, State Emblem, and National Anthem.
